1. Encouraging and registering cooperative friendly activities in cooperative policy;
2. To establish good governance in cooperative societies through audit, inspection and supervision;
3. To increase the professional skills of the officers-employees of the Directorate of Cooperatives by creating opportunities for training/higher training;
4. Helping cooperatives to improve their skills and create entrepreneurship through training;
5. Promotion of cooperative values, publication, organization of seminars and workshops and institutional recognition for strengthening cooperative networking;

6. Creating self-employment through capital formation and investment;

7. Implementation of cooperative based projects and programs aimed at empowerment of rural women and general population and socio-economic development;

8. To assist cooperatives in developing their skills in branding cooperative products and establishing market linkages;

9. To assist the Directorate of Cooperatives in formulating and implementing policies, development programs and development projects necessary to achieve the objectives.
